Volunteering

Do you want to make a difference to people’s lives or give something back to your local community; make new friends, learn new skills, or use your existing skills in a way that will be valued? Are you looking to start another career in retirement or for a worthwhile activity while between jobs? As a volunteer for Farleigh Hospice you can do all these things and so much more.  In nearly all cases, whatever your skills, there is a way that they can be used.

The volunteer roles within Farleigh are as diverse as the volunteers themselves.  Volunteers help on the In-Patient Unit and in our Day Hospice; in the kitchen; on reception; in our offices; with fundraising events; in our shops – to name just a few.

The amount of time our volunteers offer varies from a regular commitment of a set number of hours a week, to being on “standby” for a few hours a month.

Many bring skills they have acquired prior to their volunteer role, for others it is the opportunity to learn new skills.  All bring a desire to help Farleigh Hospice run as smoothly, efficiently and effectively as possible for the patients in our care. Our volunteers make Farleigh Hospice possible.
