Make a Will Week 10th-14th June

During Make a Will week, local solicitors have agreed to waive their fee for Will-making, in return for a donation to Farleigh Hospice. For a minimum donation of £50 (per person) to Farleigh Hospice, the participating solicitors will prepare a Simple or Mirror Will.

A Simple Will is one in which you nominate your executors and make straightforward bequests to a surviving spouse, other beneficiaries and any charities that you support. You may also appoint guardians for your children.

Mirror Wills are where a couple make Wills which reflect one another, usually leaving all the assets to the surviving spouse or children or simple bequests such as those to a charity.

More complex Wills, such as those involving arrangements trusts, which are not classed as Simple Wills, may incur charges from the solicitor in addition to any donation to Farleigh Hospice. The fee should be discussed with the solicitor and agreed in advance.

Taking part in Make a Will week is an excellent opportunity to get your affairs in order, whilst also helping to support local people suffering from life-limiting illnesses. There is no obligation to leave a gift in your Will to Farleigh Hospice. However, once you have provided for your family and friends, leaving a gift in your Will to Farleigh Hospice is a great way to ensure that we can continue making a real difference to local families, both now and in the future. In fact, the care of 1 in 5 of our patients is funded through the income generated by legacies (gifts left in Wills).

If you would like to make a Will, simply contact a solicitor from the list below now and make an appointment between 10th - 14th June mentioning ‘Farleigh Hospice Make a Will Week’ when you call. Appointments will be given on a first come first served basis and may be limited.
