Every year Farleigh Hospice produces its own calendar which is available to supporters and members of the general public to purchase at a cost of £3 each. The income generated by these popular calendars plays an important part in helping to fund the free care and support Farleigh Hospice provides to local people affected by life limiting illnesses.
It’s been exactly a year since David Laybourn from Stock, Nr Chelmsford, first became a member of Farleigh Hospice’s board of trustees. During the past 12 months, as well as being a trustee, behind the scenes David has also been busy helping to raise money for Farleigh Hospice through his recreational activities.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, patients at our Chelmsford and Maldon day hospices were treated to a festive frenzy of Christmas cake making and decorating, sumptuous Christmas dinners and musical entertainment, getting everyone in the festive spirit.
After 5 years of being Chairman at Farleigh Hospice, John Watkins will be retiring from his role on 31st December with Keith Andrew ready to succeed him as the new Chairman of Essex’s no. 1 charity.
The Maldon Santa Fun Run was a great success with 206 people arriving at Promenade Park to take part in our 2nd festive dash to raise cash of the year. Between them they pledged to raise approximately £10,000 in sponsorship.

Every year Farleigh Hospice conducts a survey which specifically focuses on the quality of care being delivered by our Inpatient Unit (IPU). The survey is completed throughout the year, by patients during their stay on the IPU
