Candlelit Dinners

We are always looking for ways to improve the lives of our patients, their families and carers.  We know from experience that with the diagnosis of a life limiting illness, life can often change dramatically for the whole family and relationships within the family can change.

Such a diagnosis can change relationships and feelings once held so dear can seem lost.  It is with this in mind that the candlelit dinners have been organised.  These are special evenings where patients get the chance to treat the special person who cares for them. 

It can be a chance for couples to have a romantic meal that may not be possible anywhere else and to give them time to re-establish their relationship as partners rather than carer and patient.  Or it could be an opportunity to thank a special carer.

Every effort is made to transform Farleigh Hospice into a restaurant.  All the tables have table cloths, candles and flowers are placed on the  tables, menus are printed and staff are dressed as waiters / waitresses.  The menu is chosen and selected by our Cordon Bleu Chefs, meal choices cater to individual tastes and a full wine and drinks menu is available.  There is even a live musician such as a harp player to get the ambience just right.
